XCP-Ray – measurement and calibration with XCP
==============================================

Free to use (freeware, see LICENSE.txt). Windows 10 or 11, 64 bit. No installation: unpack the
folder anywhere and start the programs from it.

bin\
xcpray-gui.exe the measurement and calibration tool
xcpray-cli.exe the same on the command line (info, get, set, measure, console)
xcp-sim.exe simulated XCP ECU (XCP on UDP/IP)
x1-elf2a2l.exe A2L from an ELF file (DWARF) and a short variable list
x1-a2l-studio.exe A2L from and with an ELF file: update addresses, conversion rules
  x1-dbc.exe show/decode DBC files
  x1-rec.exe inspect recordings
  x1-a2l.exe inspect A2L files

examples\
udp_demo.x1p a project: the simulated ECU over XCP on UDP/IP on this computer

Quick start without hardware
----------------------------

Double-click start-demo.bat: it starts the simulator and opens the demo project. Then
Measurement > Start (F5). Change the amplitude or frequency in the "Calibration" table and
watch the scope. Close the simulator window when you are done.

CAN with PEAK adapters
----------------------

Install the PEAK device driver (www.peak-system.com); it brings PCAN-Basic, which XCP-Ray uses.
Then Devices > Add ECU: the A2L file, transport "XCP on CAN", the channel (e.g. PCAN_USBBUS1, the
list shows the attached channels) and the bit rate. XCP-Ray sets the bit rate itself.

Arduino and ESP32
-----------------

The kits (separate downloads) extend existing Arduino (AVR) and ESP32 projects with XCP: over the
USB serial port (COM port) with the print output in a console of the tool, or over the network
(XCP on UDP/IP). The A2L file is generated from the firmware's ELF file after every build.
